Happy Easter--the Poppy dress

I really like this pattern so I decided to make this dress. (Hush, don't tell anyone it was made from left over curtain material---If you listen, you hear Mammy saying: "What you up to with Miss Ellen's portiers).
I can slip on my little jacket. If you look closely, you can see the snow under my left foot. That's because:
There is still a ton of snow up on the mountains! April indeed.

Handlebar moustache

This painting was started during a painting demonstration I did for an arts group. The pictures below shows some of the construction. I love Ken's white hair and moustache and the fact that he collects old vehicles.

Roughed in shapes

Added dark shadows, refined shapes
Added shirt texture, refined shapes, decided to go with just trees in the background (not trees and mountains).
Then added purple to shirt, made sky a light purple (too gloomy) went back to a light blue/purple sky. Assured myself that I had a value ration of about 60/30/10 (medium, dark, light).

Flounces

Inspired by the flounce skirts I kept seeing last year, I made one for myself.  I like the suspenders with it!
