And then, Tess got the joke
I love the textures in this one. I started with painted collage papers, painted over that, then went back in with stamps in some areas. I really like making my own stamps with that soft eraser-type stuff and little cutters you get from the art store. Use a cutter! I tried initially with an exacto knife, the cutters are way easier.

I love the expression on her face; so life-like! My hair is in the exact same style today too! LOL
I like this because I want to start painting figures and have no idea where to start...
Awesome!
You and I must be sisters under the skin--I could have written this post! (Though fabulous the painting is absolutely yours!) I love the way you've been able to depict laughter so naturally.
This is great--so much expression and so real--too fun, makes me laugh! I really enjoy going over your posts, Paula!
I really love this portrait - shows such personality!
I've been enjoying your comments on the Olympics very much, too - and I am happy that Canada won the hockey game of hockey games.
The American press can be such clods - boasting of medals and prowess with complete disregard for sportsmanship and just plain good civility. Canada deserved to be on top of the golds!
As much as I enjoyed Canada winning the gold, the Americans were brilliant and deserved the silver. Too bad they can't be as happy as the bronze medal winners, which counselors say are happier with their medals because they aren't "first losers". The rivalry makes it so exciting and what goes around will come around.
I still expect to catch hell from someone about the "politeness comment. Intersting that the first comments seem to all be from yanks.
