August Blue Moon

There is a blue moon tonight. Get out there and enjoy it.

Staying Alive and a Super MOOn alert

A great combo featured on tywkiwdbi.blogspot.ca/  combining some wonderful film clips and one of my favorite pieces of music, "Staying Alive". Duh, I knew Rita was a beautiful actress...how did I not know she was a terrific dancer?

Super Moon alert! Go look at the moon tonight.Tthe closest and largest full moon of this year. Calendars say May 6,

Happy Solstice

Hurray, the winter solstice arrives tomorrow night with a full moon in attendance. Now the days will begin to lengthen. Light a candle and praise the powers that be for bringing back the light.

Burridge Inspired

I am still wanting to play with some of the things I learned at the Burridge workshop. This is an acrylic painting on watercolor paper that has been treated with gesso. I will probably frame this like a watercolor but Burridge often mounts his paintings directly onto canvases and sells them like that--no frame. I like the approach and will experiment with it.

The Devil's Ride

I saw this car parked in a driveway in Banff. I thought it had a sinister smirk.

I am off to Victoria B.C. tomorrow to visit my eldest daughter. I hope to take lots of photographs for painting later. I also have several competitions, etc. to prepare for. January will start me off busily! I hope 2009 is a very good year.

Birthday Moon

What could be better than a frosty Hunter's Moon on one's birthday morning. If the weather holds, I will have bonfire tonight and listen for the elk bugling and the coyote choir. There are simple pleasures in the Columbias.
