I love big earthy sunflowers. I know they have been done before by better and more famous artists. I will paint my own anyway!

The end of August

Jimmy (another little truck painting)
It looks like a busy week. I have an art show this weekend in the beautiful garden area of Strands Restaurant in Invermere. We have had a couple weeks of cool, wet, grey weather which I am heartily tired of and I'm hoping Saturday will be bright, warm and sunny! I am trying to crank out some new paintings to hang with the rest of the summers work. I also have shows coming up at Pynelogs in Invermere and in Cranbrook, so work I must!

The Billy Boys

This may be the last painting that gets posted for a while. I just returned from a trip to Illinois to check on my father. He is in an assisted care home. Parkinson's disease is robbing him of his movement and I am seeing early signs of dementia. But he is still trying and his odd sense of humor still kicks in occasionally. It is going to be very hard for all of us in the time ahead.
My daughters are coming home for Christmas, the first time we will all be together in three years. I am busy cleaning up this huge cavernous house that has been neglected for painting and travelling (much better things to do). Cleaning, gift finding, then painting (for a limited time only).
