She wouldn't leave me alone...
I sat down to paint this image inspired by an old photograph. I am rather pleased with how it turned out. I am struggling to let go of outcomes and just paint what speaks to me. It may not be lucrative but it seems more important. This is one of the images that haunts me until I do something about it. I like that there are images that do that but I don't know why they pester me.

It's a major award!
The trick with winning (or not winning) an award is to not take it too seriously. Nevertheless, I still feel exhilarated when I win something. It's nice to think I'm not just a legend in my own mind.
Red Head won second place at Vis Arts at Artrageous gallery. I have always liked this painting and apparently, someone else saw merit in it too. The nice little cash prize will be very appreciated.

Red Turban 16x20
I like the background. I don't know if this is finished yet.
Regarding goals
Regarding goals
"..there's a special power that comes with writing down my goals...
And apparently, I'm
not the only one who thinks so. A Stanford University Study found that
when people write down their goal, it increased the probability of them
achieving it by over 70%. Seventy percent!" from: http://www.yesandyes.org/2013/01/write-to-change-january.html
Hence the reason, I write down my goals. PS I want to go to Europe!!

Working it out
I love the idea of this painting. I got the figure and the colors blocked in and wasn't that happy with the results although now, looking at it in this photo, it wasn't as bad as I thought. In reality, it was very dark. So I decided it needed more color!
Please note: I am working it out...it's not finished!
