OK, I know they are not goats but Bighorn sheep look more like goats than sheep and besides, I like the title. I took this photo down by the lake and the little family was all lined up grazing down the hill.

This is one of those paintings that just fell off the brush. I like it better than a lot of stuff I've done recently.

Field of Shooting Stars

In the spring, down near at a big ranch near the Wasa bridge, there is a field that explodes in shooting stars. I have a photo of a year when they were very brilliant and it is the basis for this painting.

Causeway Series #1

I took a bunch of photos one evening as I sat on the dock looking back at the Victoria causeway. It was a beautiful evening with lots of strong yellow light. I am hoping to do a small series from the pictures. I am comtemplating going over this with a yellow glaze but I will try it on plastic first. The foreground and wall are the same color in the photo. I finally had to make that wall darker so that it would recede. Never trust a photo!

New Hat

I attended a hat making workshop at Ft. Steele on Sunday and learned quite a few new tips for putting one together. I can see a lot of my old bonnets will be getting a makeover. It was fun and we had a sumptious tea. One of the ladies shared her recipe for clotted cream...oh dear, it's too good and will make heavenly strawberry shortcake when my berries ripen!
