This one was sent to one of the collaborators for her "Nature" collage series.

Materials include: gelatin print paper, acrylic skin, manipulated photos.

It is up to 12C outside. I can see the roads and the grass. There are huge icy ponds in the backyard. It's light until 6:30 pm. Spring is coming!

Pederson Workshop

Last weekend was spent at Centre 64 attending a Jean Pederson workshop. Jean is a mixed media artist.

We explored using many kinds of acrylic mediums, gesso, transparent to opague paint. My main objective was to learn how to make an abstract look wonderful instead of a dog's breakfast. I think Jean has given me some great steps to achieve that. Check her out at:

I love her art installation "Farm Fragments". It consists of lots of ephemara pulled from her Uncle's old farmstead and her abstract paintings inspired by the farm. It takes me right back to the rural Illinois I grew up in.

Columbia To-do

This is one of the first paintings I made upon arriving in the Columbia Valley. I was intrigued by all the bones I was finding while out walking my dog. And the notes are all pieces of to-do lists that kept cropping up. It was supposed to be an impression of my new life in the valley.
