I'm published!

I strongly urge artists to cultivate any writer friends. My friend, Tony Berryman, wrote a terrific article about me and it is published in the May issue of "Art Calendar" magazine. If you go to the subscription part of the website, you can download the entire May issue (or one of your choosing) for only $2.95! I think that's a great deal. And as soon as I have free moment, I intend to read the rest of that months magazine. Check it out, it appears to be a good artist mag.

Great thanks to Vicki Shuck (check out her wonderful blog) for letting me know that the article had been published.

Ft. Steele

This is a reproduction of the old Wasa hotel at Ft. Steele Historical Park and the new home of "Art at the Fort" a co-operative of artists that will be displaying their work upstairs. This is my first day at the fort, and I am excited and very pleased to be there.

Rams

I'm feeling hugely guilty that I haven't been painting more. That is the instigation that a blog has. This was a little slap-up, warm-up painting inspired by a Burridge DVD.

My Mom

Doris Cox was born on May 28th. I am a little late to mark her birthday but I wanted to post this recently discovered picture of her. I'm intrigued by the effect of this painted photo. It may help to explain why I love to paint redheads. It has been nearly 25 years since she passed away and I miss still.

Imagery meets Narrative

Jessica Gowling developed this show. Each participant was sent a print that had information about the show and how to proceed. The print text was included as part of the artwork. Ms. Gowling then collected and held a show of these works inCalgary. She has a second show happening at Pynelogs beginning May 26. I am looking forward to viewing the works ( some 25-30 pieces.

Jessica also made a book of the exhibit on Blurb. What a cool site!! I want to make my own art books and perhaps a history of my parents.
