Yesterday, an artist-in-residency I had applied for let me know there was no residence available. I also got passed over for a grant to study in Alberta. I'm feeling pretty discouraged. I'm in a workshop this week and feeling like I can't paint. Spring feels like it is never coming to this valley. I am going to go find some cheese to enjoy with this whine.

The Hitchhiker

So sorry to hear all the discouraging things--but as always you still have your great sense of humor. The horses are gorgeous, I love the light in the field and the little bluebird.

I have to admit its been a while since I last visited - but what a treat it is to see your current work. I love your titles, great fun, and on this one I had to do that "second look" to see the hitchhiker (of course, I'm currently working on my tiny laptop, so it takes some looking to see everything.)
Its discouraging to not get the things we apply for but your work is great and it will come together -
