DSDF PORTRAIT
Karin Jurick sent the call out for her portrait exchange for the Different Strokes from Different Folks site and this is the painting I am returning. Please check out the website, there are some terrific portraits. This is such a cool event to take part in and I have met some wonderful artists through it. I love the photo I had to work from, very "Wuthering Heights", hence the title "Could be Kathy".

I love it - very dramatic and I know that angle is hard to pull off in portraiture. Also, I read back through your blog and really enjoyed it.
Hi Paula. Yes, this was a very cool pose! You did a wonderful job with the light and shadow. Colors are so perfect! So far, the submissions to this challenge are so fun to look at!
Very nice.
Great job on this portrait.
And I love the colors too.
This is a really wonderful portrait! You must have had a lot of fun with that pose!!
I had to laugh when I read your Wuthering Heights comment, that's exactly what I thought. Beautiful painting and a great reference you had to work with.
What a terrific portrait! Your style works perfectly with this pose. Great use of cool purples in the shadows and that bit of yellow highlight on the bridge of her nose. Beautiful palette. Had to smile at your nod to "Wuthering Heights".
What a pose. You did a fabulous job on this Paula.
Wonderful - you have a beautiful painterly style that adds to the depth and interest of this painting. Great work!
Your unique style works so well with this portrait, plus the photo pose is very dramatic...nice entry.
That's a lot of DRAMA! You not only had to do a face, but a hand as well. Both very well done.
This portrait rocks my socks off. SO WONDERFUL!!! Kudos to you, Paula. LOVE it.
Love this portrait! It has a classic 30's feel to it! and I love the fluid quality of the painting.

Paula, just wanted to say your portrait is incredibly compelling. It swirls and breathes and pulls you right in to her gaze, you can't view it without wondering what she is thinking of. Wow!
Just had to tell you how much I love this portrait. Sure, it's a great pose, but more so it's a great painting. I'll definitely come back to study it again.
