Hot Pink

A hot pink t-shirt and a pair of high waisted me-made pants. Self photography is hard. Not only did my shoes keep sinking in the muddy ground, but I continually cut off my feet! I wanted to show off my saddle shoes! Sigh.

And, because I am a painter, I will be posting an image at the bottom of the fashion blogs.

Redo tutu

I was happy with the figure in this painting but not the background. Once again, I was being too literal, following the photograph. Bad painter!

Simplifying the background made her pop out ot the painting. Now it is so much more about her and how the light falls on her tutu.

That was then, this is now

I was never really happy with this painting. I have niggled at it several times. Today I decided to lighten the background and add some Crazy Ravens collage. I also narrowed her face. I am happier with it now.

Another pose from the ballet models. I love how the frothy tutus reflect the light.

Education

I'm kinda happy with this one.

This was painted after one of those days when I was contemplating just giving up. How do artists ever make a living at selling art? It certainly isn't the easy path. Too bad the general public thanks we just lay around and paint the occasional picture then ask big bucks for it.

A pause revisited

Using photoshop, I removed all the color until the image was just black and white and I flipped it so that it viewed the opposite way (head facing left instead of right) and discovered that part of the problem was that her head was too wide...so I went back in and narrowed her face down. Then, I toned down some of the oranges...I think I'm done with this one. I need a better title, however.

A pause

This is the painting that I have been futzing with for days. I am going to leave it for now.
