I haven't bought pants for the last five years because I couldn't find a pair that fit me. This pair from Northern Reflections is not bad although I would still have liked the waist about an inch higher. A long rise and a round caboose make it IMPOSSIBLE for me to wear most of the pants being offered out there.
I had the hot pink t-shirt and the pants, so when I found the silk scarf at the thift store that combined the two colors...well, it had to come home with me.
I tried the pants long and cuffed to puddle jumping length. I am interested in hearing which way you think I should wear them. I generally wear my pants long because I have been operating under the theory that short pants shorten the leg making the body look blockier. But, it is finally hot now and I am open to suggestions.
This is a personal thank you to all the women out there that ARE NOT stick thin but still work at looking fashionable. You inspire me no end!

And finally, this week's painting (assemblage):
I was very excited when this conceptual painting was chosen for the Sooke fine Arts show (several years ago). Only 25% of entries are accepted, so just getting in was encouraging. It was my interpretation of the water front. I was fascinated by the little boat cleats and all the ropes, knots, rust and tar that is down by the working ships.
The gentleman who signed it in was terribly surprised that a woman had made it. He seemed to think only a man could tie knots!

Wonderful painting - and LOL at the thought that only men could tie knots! I like your trousers rolled up - one vote for cropped - they look really cool that way. Thanks so much for linking up!
Very interesting painting and subject you've chosen. I'd love to see it up close.
Those pants fit you great! When I find good pants I buy stock. ;)
See you at Patti's!
I like the colors in this outfit and I completely understand your frustrations...I cannot buy pants online, because I have to try each one on...you have to try many duds before your find that special one!! :)
Wow! You painted that???? You painted that??? It looks so REAL. Oh my goodness, such talent! Just beautiful! About the pants, YES, get rid of the low rise, sheesh, the only ones who should wear that style are prisoners, because that is wear it was created, IN JAIL. Longer pants will definitely lengthen the leg. I could never wear cropped pants because they made my legs look quite shrimpy. :-)
You are such a fabulous artist and I am so thrilled when you share your work with us.
I have a heck of a time finding pants as well. I think we have a similar problem, but I also have a big stomach to add to the problem. I find Not Your Daughter's jeans to be my favorite fit. I just read an article that pants are now designed to be fitting at the real waist. Hooray!
I love that second pose. You look like a super hero!
Beautiful painting. Like that shade of brown on you. Nice shots!

Great outfit...I ADORE the scarf. It's too hot here to wear even a light scarf. I look forward to being able to again in the fall!
Also, looooove those mountains in the background!

You look very handsome indeed.

Great looking pair of pants. I agree that short pants if they are too short make a person look blocky. However, the length you have in the second picture is a good length and the pink shirt and scarf make a great outfit, more "now" than the other pic. I am glad to find another artist. Great piece. Would love for you to check my blogs. Gracieotripp.blogspot.com and moonkitti.blogspot.com.
