French Housedress--vogue 8813

I made this pattern some time ago and learned from the mistakes I made then. This is a Marcy Tilton design and I like the flowing style of it. It feeds into my fondness for lagenlook. I scored about 6-8 metres of raw silk at a thrift store so I felt I had to use it up. I used huge vintage buttons on the pockets.

With a cashmere sweater and a silk scarf, I'm ready for cooler weather.

This dress is gorgeous!! The color, the use of trim... housedress? Not. I'm amused by your use of the term Lagen Look. I hate almost all tight clothes so I guess I'm a Lagen devotee too. Your belt pulls it in beautifully however. I had been envisioning making a long dress in a similar shape, with a wide belt. Thanks for the additional inspiration. You look fantastic. XXOO

This dress looks lovely. I would have liked some close up photos to see the detailing. Big pockets I love! And note to self to get a waist-cinching belt.

Oh it's so pretty. The turquoise silk was a great idea and the black design. Not to mention the belt which would never have crossed my mind. I love your version of the French House Dress - although yours is anything but.
