Doing the Grandma thing....
My grand daughter was quite a young lady at her first art reception.
During her visit, she was tolerated by the pets
shown off by her Mommy and
enjoyed by her grandma PK.

Packing Up
Crazy Ravens Studio is about to depart on a new adventure! We sold our house back in November in preparation for Bruce finding a new administrative post. We had a cozy rental through the winter, with thanks to our lovely landlords but now, like the geese and swans, we are moving on.
We are relocating in New Denver, BC. I have been packing for weeks. I am anxious to get moved and start decorating my new house and learning about my new town. I owe so much to so many people in the East Kootenies. It was here that I became a working artist, something I had dreamed about for years. I hope I find as good friends and colleagues in the West Kootenies.

Crazy Ravens New Nest
My favorite items to wear lately are linen jumpers and tights. Very comfortable and flexible.
because in my new location of Radium Hot Springs
I may have to outrun bighorn sheep.

Papier Colle Femmes reception
Judy Walker and me at the reception for Papier Colle Femmes. There was a fine turnout. The rest of the show was very interesting also. Our third musketeer, Carney Oudendag had to miss the event because she had just moved and was up to her ears busy but she was keenly missed.
Judy inspecting the moon album. We hadn't seen the other persons finished work until the opening. It was like opening Christmas presents. You can see some of the mail art envelopes on the wall.

Carney's super suitcase.
Judy's awesome album.
If you can get down to Pynelogs, go have a delicious lunch on the patio and take in the art.

Paint-in at Crazy Ravens Studio
What better way to celebrate the first long day of summer than a paint-in.
A few members from the Headwaters Art Society arrived to explore gelatin printing. I made small molds of gelatin (you can see one just in front of Leslie's left hand. We slathered them with acrylic paint, impressed texture items and layered the results.
A result. Of course, you can make bigger gelatin slabs. I am going to use my prints for collages and art journals.
As usual, I get into my work.
If you are interested in seeing more photos of the paint-in, go here: http://headwatersartsociety.blogspot.ca/2012/06/summer-solstice-celebration.html

The Headwaters Arts Society was very pleased with the response of the showing artists and the attending public of their first art show (and sale). Thanks to everyone involved for all the help and support. You can view photos here ( just click on the slideshow button):

Two reviews
I will also plug the "greatest loser" DVD. I have the one with 6 workouts. I'm using the intial weight lifting workout and I'm quite pleased with it. A good all around workout with a warm-up and a good stretch session after. I hope to work my way up to the low-impact aerobic and finally the boot camp! I've learned the hard way (through injuries) to work my way up slowly.

Where it all takes place
Finally, I'm back in the studio. This is my take on one of Burrdige's "drip trees". I am having fun playing around with this. Expect some more.
This is my studio space. I found this great desk as a giveaway in somebodies yard in Victoria. It's about 8 foot by 3 foot and weighs a ton, but what a great work surface. I have spent the last couple of days cleaning and culling. Gotta make room for new stuff. What does everyone do with their old paintings? Because, it's cold and grey outside, this is the perfect time to be overhauling the house. Next, the frame room!

One woman show for Crazy RAvens Studio
My one woman show reception at Centre 64 took place yesterday. The hanging committee did a fantastic job. Centre 64 is lovely gallery and my paintings looked great in there.
Margaret asked for props, so I took my painting companion, Mr. Thrifty and my travel art kit. I want to thank all involved for preparing this show and special thanks to all my friends who made the effort to view it.

Getting Ready
Wow, it has been a while since I posted anything. I have been enjoying lots of company this summer. Now I am desperately trying to do some last minute paintings to include in this show. Centre 64 is a beautiful facility. Here's hoping that some of the people in town for the Folkfest check out my show.

Art Pixies
With Jami on my left and Jessica on my right, I can accomplish anything! These two ladies work hard and tirelessly with whiny, cranky and/or confused artists to get their art on the wall and organize the receptions. I owe them so much, plus they are just fun to hang out with.I am looking forward to my reception tonight, a shared show at Pynelogs.
