It's a major award!

The trick with winning (or not winning) an award is to not take it too seriously. Nevertheless, I still feel exhilarated when I win something. It's nice to think I'm not just a legend in my own mind.

Red Head won second place at Vis Arts at Artrageous gallery. I have always liked this painting and apparently, someone else saw merit in it too. The nice little cash prize will be very appreciated.

Redhead

16x16 acrylic

This is nearly done, there may be a bit of tweaking to do, but I love the collagey bits. This is the direction of a series I will be working on this winter, along with the other dozen ideas that are buzzing around in my brain!

Anticipating Gelati

I took a snapshot of a woman at the farmer's market last year outside of Gerry's Gelati. I think it was the red hair that attracted me. There is a lot of texture in this painting that I really like and that doesn't show up so much in the photo. Hey Elizabeth....check out the spirals!
