Redhead
This is nearly done, there may be a bit of tweaking to do, but I love the collagey bits. This is the direction of a series I will be working on this winter, along with the other dozen ideas that are buzzing around in my brain!

And then, Tess got the joke
I love the textures in this one. I started with painted collage papers, painted over that, then went back in with stamps in some areas. I really like making my own stamps with that soft eraser-type stuff and little cutters you get from the art store. Use a cutter! I tried initially with an exacto knife, the cutters are way easier.

One to Keep--Nymph
I made this painting a couple of years ago and have become more and more fond of it, so I think it will no longer be for sale. It reminds me of my Mom, not that it looks like her but there is something in her expression that makes me smile. If anyone out there has prayers to spare, My cousin Charlene is gravely in need of them. She is not recovering from heart surgery as well as expected and we still need he, if possible.

My Mom
Doris Cox was born on May 28th. I am a little late to mark her birthday but I wanted to post this recently discovered picture of her. I'm intrigued by the effect of this painted photo. It may help to explain why I love to paint redheads. It has been nearly 25 years since she passed away and I miss still.
