Explorations--googly eye

Playing with layers and abstraction and a googly eye.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Ok, this is an older photo. It definitely isn't green outside yet. I am planning and sewing but I am not about to go into a blizzard to take photos.

So just go check out Visible Monday for fashion ideas:  http://notdeadyetstyle.blogspot.ca/2013/03/visible-monday-89-suitably-dressed.html

This week's abstract

Quotation rotation sequence

QRS   8x10 acrylic, acrylic skins, stencils, stamps

I quite like the colors in this abstract. I am going tor try to use them in a figurative painting. QRS stands for quotation rotation sequence, a bit of nonsense that I just like the sound of. I am constantly collecting art quotes. Here's one for the day

Merry Christmas

A textured, chunky little abstract that I am somewhat pleased with, "Epistle".

Merry Christmas and thank you to all that visit this blog, all the love and help from all my artists's friends, all the love and encouragement from all my other friends and a special thanks to everyone that bought paintings making it possible for me to continue painting.

Abstract in Progress

Headed somewhere with this. I wanted to make a yellow painting. Textured gesso, crackle paste and washes of fluid and heavy acrylic.

I need more crackle...I guess I need to put it on thicker.

Hard Winter

This is my second abstract. The weather and terrain here can be unforgiving. In Sparwood, which is the next valley over from where I live, 11 snowmobilers were caught in an avanlanche last week. Three survived. Mother nature is not to be taken lightly.
