Island Pond

Island pond is the name of a pond about 15 km south of Canal Flats. I like the trees in the middle and it is intersting to look at. I was hugely frustrated the day I painted it outside. The light kept changing! One minute the background was quite dark and the next minute is was a mid-tone. Plein-aire painting is very challenging but I am hoping to do more of it this summer.

Dear Paula - Somehow I don't have your email address, so I'm putting this here -

I was recently given the You Make My Day award by another blogger; I'm passing it on to others whose sites make My day. This is just to let you know you are one of my choices; check it out at my blog and pass it on if you choose -

Have a Great week!

anaelle,

I have been trying to paint a lot this year. I just dropped off 30 paintings for my group show. I'm taking a little breather and then getting started for next year's show. I also like pottery but I only have time to concentrate on one thing and painting is it for now. Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it.

The colors are so clean and beautiful in this one, Paula--very nice, peaceful setting.

I am amazed at the variety of work you do, Paula! I sure like the feel and colors of this--I admire anybody who can work with greens like this!
