Texas Heroes

Senator Wendy Davis spoke for more than 10 hours at a Texas Filibuster yesterday.


Senator Leticia Van de Putte asked the vital question "At what point must a female senator raise her hand or her voice to be recognized over her male colleagues?”

People who stayed all night to watch the filibuster in Texas.

Ah, I just read an article that explains the back brace in the photo. A lot of amazing women and men in Texas made their voices heard! Now if the US would just teach kids about contraception, which is a better approach to reproductive responsibility.

And in other news, the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act!

I agree. The best way to stop abortions is good sex education in the schools and access to birth control.
