Dome Quixote

I traveled to New Denver this weekend to spend time with Bruce and check out our new house. We stayed at the Villa Dome Quixote. There are several of these little domes that constitute the resort.

Because of the egg shaped design, the only need for inside walls is for privacy (bathroom)

It is a remarkable technology that is being developed. You can read about it at:  http://tinyhouseblog.com/stick-built/curved-by-design/

A two-story unit. The buildings had a lovely sense of calm about them. And you will have to visit to see how sound is affected in them. The curved walls affect how you hear noise differently than in a rectangle house. There would be no secrets in a dome house. Meditation with an OM or a bell would be amazing!

It was a great respite before the moving frenzy that will be taking place over the next few days. I wish I could build a home like the dome!!

p.s. if you go visit (and you should) tell Joan that Paula sent you.
