Deer are lovely and I'm always amazed at their changing colours from their bright red in summer that mimic the green of the fields in intensity to their drab gray winter coat. Here they are drab already.
I checked out your family history blog. It's the kind of thing that leaves me feeling I should be doing such a thing.
