Old Man Sweaters

I didn't think it was possible but there are sweater makeovers! So I gambled $2 on a thrift sweater from LLBean...

And followed the directions from:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xMtQ6H1TCA alter a sweater I took in the sides and the sleeves and set the sleeves in an inch or so in each shoulder. It was surprisingly easy.

Now I have an outfit to brave the cold, wet winds of Victoria in.

I hereby declare "Open season" on old man sweaters!
Go check out other fashion ideas at:

and for some leftover Halloween fun
Fiona a la Bela Lugosi
Note to self: Dogs do not like having makeup put on even if they are a hit with trick or treaters.

BE SURE TO VOTE ON TUESDAY!

This is a great re-do. I tend to get very complicated with mine and it's wonderful to see how sometimes less is more in the alterations/upcycling department. You look great. I think I might be able to finish a sweater tonight with your inspiration.

I am going to check out that video. You really did a great redo on the sweater. I had no idea one could look so different.
Your post made me laugh about Fiona. She looks so funny in the picture.

I think I should watch that video, too. I tend to shy away from sewing, especially knits, but you make it sound easy. And it looks great! Thanks for the tip!

What a brilliant way to change a man's old sweater! It looks great with your dress. You're a very talented lady, both with thread and needle, and with dog make-up!
