To jump or not to jump

I have been impressed with some people's tone on tone outfits. Here is my attempt. I don't think I am really happy with the silhouette.

So I threw a jumper over it. How come a jumper is a sleeveless form of dress in North America and a "sweater" in England?

Hmm, I kind of like it with the jumper, although I do like the belt, too. After living in England for 10 years, I still think "sweater" when I hear the word "jumper." Maybe because my husband always wears one in the winter. Let's not even get started on "pants."

You and I must have similar minds - here we are next to each other on Visible Monday again, and my skirt used to be like your skirt but I took off the bottom tier!

I like the tone on tone you did!

We could go on forever of British terms vs american...lol

I like both these looks!! I'm a fan of monochrome (monotone?) dressing, and your blues are really pretty. Adding the jumper creates a totally different look and I love the proportion/hem lengths together. Very cool!

I like both the first and second looks, and the second looks more like "you", with the extra texture. Thanks for linking up!

I am in love with your jewelry! I would love to see some close up shots of those pieces.

I really like the first shot very much. I've always felt that a monochromatic look is very flattering on everyone.

Although we all speak English, it is funny how different the British version is. My mom was born in England and those differences got her into some awkward situations when she first came to the USA!

I love the monochrome outfit. It has a southwestern vibe that I love.

I always wondered about jumper as well. But there are a whole lot of words that are used differently. When my former company was working with another company in England and had to install equipment on the first floor of a building, we found out that the first floor of a bldg in Britain is the second floor in the US. It took time to straighten that mess out.

Actually, I like the silhouette with the belt very well on you. Beauty in blue! Either way works well ... but then you knew that, I'm sure!
Have a great week!

I love that gorgeous gypsy skirt! Personally my favourite is all the blues together, and a wonderful shade of blue too.

I do like your blue outfit a lot - and I did notice that you and Val look very coordinated on Visible Monday!

My favorite is the top outfit, because of the lovely belt!

I think the reason you're not so happy with this outfit, is because you could use a bit more volume on top to balance the skirt?

I prefer the look with the jumper, although this bright blue suits you so well. I prefer layering and to wear the jumper over a longer skirt is layering at its best.
